3 Ideas in 2 Minutes on Embracing Your Weirdness
Embracing Your Weirdness, Authenticity & the Republic of Molossia
I. Embracing Your Weirdness
Podcaster and club promoter Chris Williamson talking about our duty to turn our quirks and peculiarities into rocket fuel:
Basically, the chances of you existing are zero. And yet, somehow against all those odds, you’re here. What if I told you that this miracle of your existence means that embracing your weirdness is your duty? To yourself, the entire human race and the universe at large. I want to invite you to believe that embracing your weirdness will improve your entire life. Competitively, socially and spiritually.

II. Authenticity
Angel investor and philosopher Naval Ravikant on getting your competitive edge:
You can escape competition through authenticity when you realize that no one can compete with you on being you.
That would have been useless advice pre-internet. Post-internet, you can turn that into a career.
I took a deep dive into this idea in my latest post about the Circle of Competence.
III. The Republic of Molossia
The Republic of Molossia is a micronation founded in 1977 by His Excellency, Kevin Baugh, President of Molossia. Here’s what the Lonely Planet travel guide has to say about the destination:
The Republic of Molossia is surely the most delightful micronation on earth. While it describes itself as a ‘developing country’, this republic — surrounded on all sides by Nevada, USA — has a long and fascinating history, an incredible detailed sense of national culture, and a beautiful insight into the ridiculousness of the modern world.
Being a sovereign nation, Molossia not only has its own currency, the Valora (divided into 100 Futtrus). The country has its own system of dates, too, with 1977 being Year 1. Admiral Baugh is one of the few micronation leaders who affords himself a Navy as well as an Air and Space Agency. As of year 44, the Republic has a population of around 30 humans and four dogs.
Molossia is a welcoming nation that belongs on everyone’s travel list. 🐘
Have a great week,
Chris
